Dinosaurs Invade Branson!
Monsters, Ghouls, & Creepy Things Haunt Hwy 76!
There’s a strange brew housed next to Wal-Mart on Hwy 76 in Branson , Missouri . As you drive by TCBY you’ll see a sign with a dinosaur perched on it. Turn south in to the drive and visit Branson’s newest attraction -- The Dinosaur Museum and the Haunted House & Monster Asylum – if you dare!
As you enter the lobby of the 24,000 square foot complex you’ll start feeling a sense of excitement. From throughout the building you can hear the screams and roars coming from visitors and exhibits. It’s great fun!
One side of the complex features the educational Dinosaur Museum , featuring over 50 life-sized dinosaurs as they appeared when they roamed the earth. The models are done by paleo-artists who copied the molds off of the original dinosaur skeletons and then created the bodies. The dinosaurs are displayed among fauna, from the very smallest creature-a 1-foot micro-raptor to towering 42-foot tyrannosaurus rex that stands about two stories high. There is a learning center with video, a fossil exhibit, birthday party area, and gift shop as well.
If you’re ready for some thrills; visit the Haunted House and Monster Asylum on the other side of the complex. As you travel through the Ozark Cemetery , the various crypts, the insane asylum, the ghostly castle, and more …things go bump in the night and creepy ghouls scare the dickens out of you! It’s great fun and really gets your heart racing fast. The Haunted House features some of the best animatronics you’ll find. There are numerous gargoyles and monsters, as well as a hall of nightmare screen legends. A word of warning: If you have a clown phobia, close your eyes as you exit!
Visitors to the complex can choose to visit one of the attractions inside the building or see both the Dinosaur Museum and the Haunted House. Combo tickets are available. The Dinosaur Museum and Haunted House open daily at 9am. Call 417-335-TREX or 417-33HAUNT for tickets and more information.
